Miller Poultry, based in Orland, Indiana, announced that it is expanding their grow-out capacity; starting a new breeder operation; and now feeding 100 percent non-GMO grains in the company’s antibiotic-free program. Miller’s processing plant has added a second shift, and is processing 650,000 birds per week.
The company’s breeder project will add 52 new contract growers to the area in Northern Indiana, and add significantly more jobs to the area, the company said in a press release. The project is tentatively scheduled for completion in early 2018.
“Miller Poultry is excited for the opportunity to expand our business and bring jobs to the local area,” Galen Miller, Miller Poultry CEO and Owner, said. “This will also make our business more sustainable and help us continue to produce good quality products to the end producer.” Miller Poultry employs nearly 800 people.
