USDA’s March 2025 World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE) report showed increased production for chicken in 2025, lowered exports, and lowered prices.
Chicken: Broiler production for 2025 is expected to increase due to improved returns and the latest data on placements and hatcheries. However, exports for 2025 have been lowered due to recent trade data and ongoing price competition from global exporters, which is negatively impacting U.S. shipments. Additionally, the forecast for broiler prices has been revised downward, reflecting anticipated lower prices during the first half of the year.
Corn: The U.S. corn outlook is unchanged relative to last month. The season-average corn price received by producers is unchanged at $4.35 per bushel.
Soybeans: U.S. 2024/25 soybean supply and use projections are unchanged this month. The season-average soybean price is projected at $9.95 per bushel, down 15 cents from last month. Soybean meal and oil prices are unchanged at $310 per short ton and 43 cents per pound, respectively.
