USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins will travel to Italy next week in a bid to open the markets to U.S. agriculture producers.
She will also head to India, Vietnam and Japan in a couple of weeks, and go to South America after that. Rollins noted on Fox Business that the trip is not just about tariffs and reciprocity, but it’s also about discussing non-tariff trade barriers.
Earlier this month, Rollins led a trade delegation visit to the United Kingdom, following the announcement of a preliminary trade deal between the U.S. and the U.K. She advocated for U.S. agricultural products, including dairy, rice, beef, poultry, pork, and produce, noting the importance of providing U.K. consumers choice in the products they choose to consume. Importantly, Secretary Rollins noted the U.S. produces safe and nutritious beef, pork, and poultry products and worked throughout her mission to dispel fake news media narratives and headlines regarding these products that have been pushed by British media for decades.
