John Sitilides, Principal at Trilogy Advisors LLC in Washington, D.C., specializing in U.S. government relations, geopolitical risk, and international affairs, and is a National Security Senior Fellow at the Foreign Policy Research Institute. He examines the complex geopolitical and geo-economic decisions shaping markets in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and beyond—providing business and policy leaders with the insight they need to better understand global dynamics, anticipate potential disruptions, and mitigate risk to their industries.
With a career spanning four presidential administrations—Biden, Trump, Obama, and Bush—John Sitilides served as Southern Europe Regional Coordinator at the State Department’s Foreign Service Institute, the nation’s premier academy for American diplomacy. He went on to chair the Woodrow Wilson Center’s Southeast Europe Project and previously led the Western Policy Center, an international relations institute specializing in U.S., NATO, and EU interests across Europe and the Middle East. In 2004, he guided the Center’s successful merger with the prestigious Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.
John has also testified before Congress and is a frequent national security commentator across major U.S. and international media, including Bloomberg, CNN, FOX News, and NewsNation. His insights have been featured in leading outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Politico, NPR, Asia Times, South China Morning Post, and many more.
He is a member of the Association of International Risk Intelligence Professionals, the Intelligence and National Security Alliance, the Columbia University Club of Washington, D.C., the Empire State Forum, and the Association of Former Senate Aides. Sitilides holds a Master’s Degree in International and Public Affairs from Columbia University.
