The Consumer Price Index (CPI) released on Wednesday showed inflation rose 0.1 percent for the month after increasing 0.4 percent in February. Over the last 12 months, the index has increased five percent for all items.

USDA this week announced it has sunsetted existing line speed waivers for chicken processing establishments and has granted “modified line speed waivers” for one-year, expiring on March 31, 2024. During that time, USDA said that a third-party plans to complete data analysis of its worker safety study and submit its final report to the Department.

USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) this week announced it is granting a pilot project to a chicken processing establishment to “examine the merits and logistics of excluding Salmonella poultry vaccine strains from the FSIS Salmonella performance categorization calculation.”
