George Watts, former president of the National Chicken Council, was recently named Secretary General of the International Poultry Council (IPC). The announcement was made at the IPC’s annual meeting held August 8-10 in Brazil. Watts will succeed George Winn, who served as IPC’s executive secretary for the last four years. Winn asked to step down to devote more time to his family. IPC also announced the title change for the IPC leadership position from executive secretary to secretary general. The IPC was formed to bring together poultry industry leaders from around the world to address issues of trade, science, and improve relations among nations.
