McDonald’s has announced that it plans to close a number of U.S. restaurants this year. In fact, the company said it plans to close more restaurants in the United States than it will open this year. Becca Hary, a McDonald’s spokeswoman, declined to provide a specific figure but said the reduction would be “minimal” compared with its total of about 14,300 U.S. locations.
