In light of the recent outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) across the country, and in anticipation of the July 7 Senate Agriculture Committee hearing on Avian Influenza, the Senate Chicken Caucus and House Chicken Caucus are holding a joint briefing for members’ staff and all interested parties. The briefing will cover an overview of the virus, its impact on the meat chicken sector in particular, and the collaborative efforts being taken by the USDA and chicken producers to control and prevent the disease. This meeting will serve to share the most recent available information so that all Members have the most current information.
