The National Chicken Council (NCC) and WATT Global Media announced yesterday a new partnership and rebranding of the chicken industry’s annual marketing conference, held each summer for the past 40 years. NCC’s “Chicken Marketing Seminar” will now be named as NCC’s “Chicken Marketing Summit.”
“Our partnership with WATT will ensure that the Chicken Marketing Summit not only continues to be a value to our members, but that it will be sustainable and growing in the years ahead,” said NCC President Mike Brown. “NCC will benefit from WATT’s strong poultry brands, content expertise, relationships, audience databases, marketing channels and event production experience.”
“The Chicken Marketing Summit is the only annual industry event which brings together all stakeholders including poultry processors, foodservice/supermarket poultry buyers and allied suppliers to network, share, learn and dialogue together about the opportunities and challenges for chicken being driven by a quickly changing consumer,” stated Greg Watt, President and CEO of WATT Global Media. “We are all very excited to establish this new long term partnership with the National Chicken Council in leveraging the WATT resources and event planning to expand and grow the Summit to new levels of value for all sectors of the industry.”
Serving a unique cross section of the chicken supply chain, the NCC Chicken Marketing Summit explores issues and trends in food marketing and consumer chicken consumption patterns and purchasing behavior. Analysts provide economic forecasts for chicken and competing meats and speakers from the supermarket and foodservice segments give chicken marketers the opportunity to hear directly from their customers about the opportunities and challenges for chicken in their respective business. The seminar also incorporates a number of networking opportunities.
The 2016 NCC Chicken Marketing Summit will be held Sunday, July 10 through Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort in Hilton Head, South Carolina. The event will remain a member benefit for NCC processor and allied member companies, as well as for members of the National Poultry and Food Distributors Association. Registration for members of the trade press and representatives from the foodservice and retail segments will continue to be complimentary. More information about the summit, including registration, sponsorship opportunities and a schedule of events, will be available soon.
