McDonald’s has re-introduced the fried bone-in Mighty Wings in 285 restaurants in Atlanta. The company first launched Mighty Wings in 1990, but pulled them from the menu in 2003.  In 2013, McDonald’s rolled out again the breaded and fried wings after months of testing.  However the product failed and the chain quickly pulled wings from menus national wide in 2013,  leaving the chain with 10 million pounds of leftover wings.  Consumers apparently rejected the price point of the Mighty Wings.  Mighty Wings will be available in Atlanta through mid June, the company said.

Meanwhile, McDonalds is revamping it most popular menu item–Chicken McNuggets and testing a “clean-label” version.  The fast-food chain said the new recipe is a simpler version that does not contain any artificial preservatives and contains ingredients that customers can recognize.  Approximately 140 McDonald’s restaurants are testing the new nuggets in Portland, Oregon and Washington state. The company has not confirmed the nationwide release date.
