APHIS Releases Biosecurity Training Module

The USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has expanded the tools available for animal health emergency management with the release of a new biosecurity training module.  The module, called “Train to Contain,” offers a virtual learning platform on biosecurity principles and best practices.  The training course serves as instruction for those investigating animal diseases and responding in the field to an animal disease outbreak with biosecurity procedures.

“Train to Contain” was developed by the APHIS Veterinary Services division to be an engaging training tool that will “go beyond the usual slide-based training,” and may be applicable to all livestock and poultry operations.  It was developed alongside other livestock and poultry biosecurity and decontamination training tools which may be accessed here, and is free to the public.
