Pilgrim’s Pride Corp. completed on January 6 its all cash $350 million acquisition of the GNP Company based in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Greeley-based Pilgrim’s Pride previously announced on November 29 its agreement to acquire GNP.
GNP Co. produces JustBare organic chickens and has operations in Cold Springs and Luverne, Minnesota, as well as Arcadia, Wisconsin. Pilgrim’s Pride employs about 38,200 people and operates chicken processing plants and prepared-food facilities in 12 states, Puerto Rico and Mexico. The company’s primary distribution is through retailers and foodservice distributors.
