Animal welfare continues to be a key business issue for leading food companies and is emerging as a source of competitive advantage.  The  2016 Business Benchmark on Farm Animal Welfare assesses 99 major brands to study and understand the relative performance of food companies in the area of animal welfare.

The Business Benchmark is supported by founding partners Compassion in World Farming and World Animal Protection,  providing technical expertise, guidance, and resources.  Collier Capital, a global private equity firm, supports the Business Benchmark and is involved in encouraging greater industry engagement in animal welfare issues.

The 2016 Business Benchmark on Animal Welfare is available here and is  designed to help improve corporate reporting on farm animal welfare management, policies, practices, processes and performance with the goal of contributing tangible improvement to the welfare of the animals reared for food within company supply chains, the study states.
