The Pilgrim’s Pride  plant in Guntersville, Alabama, caught fire on early Thursday morning.  The fire started around 5:15 Thursday morning. Guntersville Fire chief Brian Waldrop said they were able to put the fire out within 45 minutes. Crews worked on isolating a small leak of anhydrous ammonia, according to the Guntersville police and the Marshal Country Emergency Management agency.

As a precautionary measure, police  advised people in nearby homes to stay inside.  There were no reports of injuries related to the fire.  Employees were sent home and the plant is closed for now.
