The preliminary total live weight of all federally inspected poultry during July 2020 was 5.68 billion pounds, down 3-percent from 5.84 billion pounds a year ago. Young chickens inspected totaled 4.97 billion pounds, down 4-percent from July 2019.
Mature chickens, at 71.0 million pounds, were up 16-percent from the previous year. Turkey inspections totaled 633 million pounds, up 3-percent from a year ago. Ducks totaled 9.94 million pounds, down 36-percent from last year.
