National Chicken Council President Mike Brown this week announced the addition of Joshua Ricken to NCC’s scientific and regulatory affairs department.

Ricken will serve as Scientific and Regulatory Affairs Manager, assisting Dr. Ashley Peterson with issues related to food safety, animal welfare, environment, and workplace safety.

A graduate of Elon University where he majored in Environmental Sciences and minored in music production and political science, Ricken then interned with NCC in 2018 in the government affairs department. From there, he earned his Juris Doctorate from Elon Law School. During the same period, he completed his Masters in Environmental Law and Policy from Vermont Law school.

“We’re pleased to welcome Josh back to the council,” said NCC President Mike Brown. “His education, experience and background in the broiler industry will be an asset to our members and help to advance NCC’s priorities, at a time when regulatory issues are at the forefront of our industry.”
