Congress this week passed a one-week funding extension (Continuing Resolution, or CR) for six appropriations bills, including Agriculture-FDA, through March 8, averting a partial government shutdown this weekend.

Current funding expires in two phases: funding for Agriculture-FDA, Military Construction-VA, and Transportation-HUD expires on March 1. The two-part CR passed this week extends that funding, along with funding for Energy-Water and Interior-Environment, through March 8.

The deadline for remaining agencies, including Defense, Financial Services-General Government, Homeland Security, Labor-Health and Human Services-Education, Legislative Branch, and State-Foriegn Operations, will be moved to March 22.
