The Senate Agriculture Committee will hold a hearing Tuesday on President Trump’s nomination of Stephen Vaden to be Agriculture deputy secretary and Tyler Clarkson to be USDA general counsel.
Vaden, a judge on the U.S. Court of International Trade, was USDA’s general counsel during Trump’s first administration and a member of the board of the agency’s Commodity Credit Corporation. Clarkson served as USDA’s deputy general counsel in the first Trump administration and previously worked in Trump’s first Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs. He is currently vice president and deputy general counsel at Ginkgo Bioworks, a biotechnology company.
The hearing will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8.
