In February 2025, 784 million broiler-type chicks were hatched, down by one percent from the previous year. As of March 1, 2025, 749 million eggs were in incubators, up two percent from 2024. Leading breeders placed 8.22 million broiler-type pullet chicks for future hatchery supply, a slight increase from February 2024.

The Producer Price Index (PPI) for final demand rose by 3.2 percent over the 12 months ending in February, remaining unchanged in February itself. Prices for final demand goods increased by 0.3 percent, while the index for final demand services declined by 0.2 percent.
