Ozone International has joined the National Chicken Council as an allied member company. Jon Brandt, president and chief executive officer, of the Bainbridge Island, Washington-based company will serve as the official representative to NCC.
Ozone International’s core purpose is to engineer and implement innovative ozone applications. The U.S. Department of Agriculture accepted ozone as safe and suitable for cleaning use in the production of meat and poultry products in 2000, and the Food and Drug Administration approved ozone as an antimicrobial agent for food in 2001.
