Frozen chicken in cold storage on May 31, 2021 totaled 730,327,000 pounds, 15 percent less than year ago but up one percent from month earlier, according to Cold Storage, USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service said.

By comparison, the decrease for chicken was the most for the three major meats.  Beef and pork each slipped one percent from year ago.

Chicken categories on May 31, 2021 that declined the most from last May’s inventory by percentage comparison were thigh meat, 40; broilers/fryers/roasters 61; legs 75; wings 81; and leg quarters 87.
