Koch Foods this week announced plans to expand its Fairfield, Ohio facility that will add over 400,000 square feet to the complex and is projected to total around $220 million in upgrades.

The Fairfield City Council met on September 27 to approve the terms of the deal, which will include the addition of approximately 402,000 square feet north of its current location, add about 400 jobs within three years of completing the expansion, and the company is expected to retain the 1,190 full-time employees currently working at the plant, according to the city council’s meeting agenda.

Koch plans to add two production lines along with other improvements. The additions and new construction are expected to cost around $120 million, while new equipment will cost $80 million, and $20 million will be spent on improvements to existing facilities.

The project is expected to start on October 1 and completion projected for December 2022.
