USDA’s February 2025 Chickens and Eggs report showed that the number of broiler-type chicks hatched in January 2025 increased by three percent from the prior year. As of February 1, 2025, the total number of eggs in incubators reached 745 million, representing a three percent increase compared to the previous year. Additionally, leading breeders placed 7.67 million broiler-type pullets in January, also up by three percent from January 2024.

USDA’s January 2025 Chickens and Eggs report showed that broiler-type chicks hatched during December 2024 increased by three percent from last year. Eggs in incubators totaled 746 million on January 1, 2025, which indicated an increase of four percent from a year ago. Leading breeders placed 9.14 billion broiler-type pullets during December 2024, a five percent decrease from December 2023.
