A second state law banning cell-grown meat is being challenged in federal court. The Institute for Justice (IJ), in collaboration with startups Wildtype and UPSIDE Foods, is suing Texas in an effort to strike down the newly enacted ban on the sale of cultivated meat in the Lone Star State. IJ and UPSIDE Foods are also the plaintiffs in a lawsuit against Florida, which enacted a similar ban.

Congressman Pat Harrigan (NC-10) is slated to speak on October 23 at the National Chicken Council’s 70th Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. North Carolina’s 10th congressional district is located in central and western North Carolina and currently includes all of Catawba, Iredell, Lincoln, and Yadkin counties, and most of Forsyth County including much of the city of Winston-Salem. Case Farms, Perdue Farms and Tyson Foods all have a presence in the district.
